IDPA Matches
Ridgway Rifle Club Monthly IDPA Matches
Dates and Times: We have been holding our matches on the second Saturday of each month. We preregister on PractiScore with a link sent out to your email address or going to Practiscore and search RRC under matches. If you never attended a match with us, we could register you on the day of the Match. You can also preregister on the 7 days preceding the date of the match on PractiScore.com. Matches begin at 9:00 AM and check in or registration for any unregistered persons begins at 8:00 AM. Completion of the match is usually about 2:00-300PM. We shoot year-round, and during inclement weather we use the indoor range, and when possible, we use the outdoor pistol range.
Entry Fee: $20 is our fee for the match. For this price we also have been providing a lite lunch, and sometimes a few extras donated by some of our match attendees.
What to Bring: Eye and ear protection is mandatory. The minimum items needed would be your sidearm, a holster belt type (no shoulder, ankle, chest rigs, or appendix carry holster are permitted), spare magazines, speed loaders, approximately 100 rounds of ammo, and a concealment garment such as a jacket or vest. Magazine or speed loader pouches are recommended if you have them, but you may load from your pockets.
Rules and General Information: We run a cold range meaning that all firearms are unloaded and holstered until the shooter is on the line. We are an affiliated IDPA Club, so an IDPA membership is suggested but we will let you shoot until you become an IDPA Member. We do not give out any prizes or awards. Match scoring is done through e-mail, so a valid e-mail address is required to obtain your match results, or you can look up your score on Practiscore.com by searching RRC under the scores tab. IDPA is a defensive style combat pistol match with its own set of rules that can be obtained at this web address http://www.idpa.com. We strive to run the match with an enjoyable, relaxed, safe atmosphere but we feel that (as most ranges do) it is the shooters responsibility to learn the rules of IDPA and to observe safe gun handling skills while attending the matches. Also, it is greatly appreciated when anyone attending the match helps with target pasting, setting targets, and scoring.
